"Au début du XXe siècle, un ethnologue allemand s'enfonce dans la forêt amazonienne à la recherche d'une plante mythique, la yakruna. Il sera guidé par Karamakate, un jeune mais puissant chaman amazonien, dernier survivant de son peuple. 40 ans plus tard, c'est un Etats-Unien qui retrouve Karamakate pour la même recherche.
